A studio mat spends more time being carried, stacked and wiped down than it does being lain on. That is why the storage detail matters as much as the foam: a mat that cannot be hung is a mat that ends up in a pile in the corner, and a pile in the corner is what a studio looks like when it is not being looked after.
The mat
High-density foam for joint protection in floor-based classes, kneeling work, core conditioning and stretching, at 101.5 x 51cm. Steel eyelets are set into the mat so it hangs on a rack or wall bracket rather than being stacked flat, and the surface wipes down quickly between sessions.
Why eyelets change the room
Hung mats dry properly, take up a fraction of the floor space, and can be counted at a glance so a missing mat gets noticed the same day. Stacked mats trap moisture between layers, take two people to move and hide damage until someone is lying on it. For a room that turns over every hour, hanging is the only arrangement that survives contact with a real timetable.
Storage options
Pair the mats with a freestanding mat rack or a wall bracket mount, which lifts them off the floor entirely in rooms where every square metre is timetabled. Both are stocked in the accessories range.
