Medicine balls, wall balls and slam balls look interchangeable and absolutely are not. Each is built for a different kind of impact, and using the wrong one is how gyms end up replacing stock every few months. This range covers all three, sized for commercial functional training areas and group classes.
Knowing the difference
-
Medicine balls, 1kg to 10kg — firm, moderately bouncy balls for throws, twists, partner work and rehab. The 1kg increments make them ideal for progressing members gradually and for mixed-ability classes.
-
Double grip medicine balls, 6kg to 10kg — moulded handles on either side for controlled swings, chops and carries where a standard ball is hard to hold safely.
-
Wall balls, 4kg to 12kg — larger, softer and deliberately low-bounce, designed to be thrown at a target and caught. The soft shell is what makes repeated catching viable.
-
Tyre slam balls, 4kg to 18kg — dead-weight balls with a heavy-duty tyre-tread shell and no bounce at all, built to be slammed into the floor at full force.
Protecting your floor
Slam work is hard on flooring, and repeated impact in one spot will eventually show. A dedicated slam pad gives you a designated impact zone that absorbs the load and saves the surface underneath — far cheaper than relaying a section of floor. Our medicine ball rack holds up to 10 balls, keeping them off the floor and out of the walkway between stations.
Buying for a functional zone
Most operators over-buy heavy and under-buy light. In practice the 4kg to 9kg range does the majority of the work in classes and inductions, so weight your order accordingly and add the heavier balls as single units.
